Holi is a vibrant Hindu festival that is predominantly celebrated in India. It is a beautiful festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. This day signifies a clean slate, a day of forgiving, forgetting your differences and coming together to celebrate the joy of life. Holi is also a festival of love! It commemorates the divine love between Lord Krishna and Radha. People smear bright colours on each other’s cheeks and indulge in delicious food and beverages. Thandai, a popular milk-based drink, is served to those taking part in the festivities and some consume it with Bhang as well.
Celebrating Holi in the Andaman Islands
Andaman is a wonderful destination for Holi. It is a festival that is celebrated with pomp and grandeur! Access to numerous picturesque beaches is perfect for a colourful festival like Holi. Every beach becomes a hub of celebration, brimming with life and festivities. People are up and about, smudging different colours and drenching every passerby in water. A sense of merriment and festive spirit permeates the air. If you want to dance, there are events with DJs travelling from across the country for these Holi celebrations. Groove to the tunes of Electronic and popular Hindi music while you dance with your loved ones and indulge in a chilled glass of Thandai! To maintain the quality of the surrounding flora and fauna, the Government is regulating and offering colours that are not toxic and manufactured from organic dyes using flowers. Enjoy a thrilling and environmentally conscious Holi at the Andaman Islands.
Celebrating Holi at Symphony Samudra Beachside Jungle Resort & Spa
Festivals in India cannot be celebrated without an assortment of mouth-watering sweets! At Symphony Samudra Beachside Jungle Resort & Spa, you will be given an invitation to the Holi event with Gujiya, which is prepared with Khopre ka Laddoo Churan and dry fruits. Your cheeks will be gently smeared with aromatic and vibrant Gulal in the spirit of Holi! Holi ka Dahan is usually executed a day before Holi celebrations. But at Symphony Samudra Beachside Jungle Resort & Spa, this ritual will be on Holi Day, and a miniature bonfire will be present for guests to partake in.
Guests will be offered a pen and paper to write their deepest regrets and sorrows to be thrown into the bonfire. This action marks the beginning of a fresh start - a clean slate. Holi celebration is incomplete without getting drenched and smearing Gulal on each other. To refrain from using harmful chemicals, flower petals and aromatic water will replace the traditional Gulal usually used on Holi celebrations. The icing on the cake will be the exquisite Thandai served to all guests when the festivities unfold, and our Holi party in Andaman is an experience that you will truly cherish!
Aside from Symphony Samudra, we have properties across the Andaman Islands - Symphony Palms Beach Resort & Spa and Symphony Summer Sand Beach Resort & Spa serving as the perfect abode to relax after a long day of fun-filled festivities.
